Dear ILEA members and the entire Events industry,
As the events industry is facing very tough times at the moment, globally, we as ILEA would like to offer our deepest support. These challenging circumstances are very difficult for all of us working in the events industry and we must come together to ease these circumstances together and try and come up with efficient ways to keep our industry alive.
ILEA is monitoring the Coronavirus situation through our industry relationships and ensuring our industry presents a consistent message. Here are some information and access to resources that might be helpful as we navigate questions surrounding the Coronavirus and travel and events.
Coronavirus Up-to-date Information:
A live-tracker of the spread of the disease from Johns Hopkins University.
The Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) recommendations for traveling.
United Kingdom's statement and resources.
McKinsey Facts and Insight. This document is meant to help with a narrow goal: provide facts and insight on the current COVID-19 situation to help decision-makers understand best practices.
We had an #ILEAExpert session lined up this month, on the latest VAT updates followed by the season’s first Chapter meeting, however, due to Governmental recommendations we are in need to postpone to avoid gatherings of any sort. ILEA VP of Finance – Steve Armitage, is in the process of creating a presentation that has all of the VAT updates for those interested.
We are also creating a stronger working relationship with Government officials who can shed some light on the current situation relating to the COVID-19, so our members and industry are up to date.
A new page on the ILEA website, dedicated to updates and useful downloads on the current situation.
If you have any ideas, requests or suggestions please feel free to reach out to us, and at the same time, the ILEA team is hard at work to try and accommodate needs, offer support and keep the industry informed.
