Guidelines for Health and Safety
ILEA ME to develop standard legalised guidelines for Health and Safety in conjunction with Civil Defence through working groups.
ILEA ME to potentially work
with the strategic department within Abu Dhabi government who want to establish a COP with the end goal to produce a collaborative industry wide guideline and standard templates/documentation which DED can then facilitate next steps with introduction to Municipality to produce them as legislation.
Industry survey to go out to all Events related companies.
Preliminary work on the survey has been made including selecting standard ‘activities’ within DED lists that could form some part of Event service. The survey structure is approximately 6-7 sections and DED are working with DubaiStatistics Centre who have standard templates for surveys.
The objective of the survey is to obtain meaningful results to get a true understanding of the events industry, the value chain(including venues and government/corporate procurement departments) and MICE contribution to GDP. Questions will include licensing, clusters and activities, size, manpower, skill sets, bids and success metrics.
Ensuring that members are VAT ready, including audited financial reports. Create member’sVAT group to discuss VAT implications and arrange an additional VAT session for members by PWC and issue a white paper following that session. Session dates are yet to be confirmed and updates will be sent out once calendar has been finalised.
